Crabill's Hamburgers

Crabill's Hamburgers
727 Miami Street
Urbana, OH

So Louis and I took Hayden for a drive out to Urbana. First stop on our "official" Hamburger America tour, as we've accidentally been to some of the top 100 hamburger joints across the county already.

Crabill's is just plain cool. It's a tiny little building with a counter and 8 stools. That's it. Wall to wall is no more than 12 feet wide, probably less. Good thing for us there were 3 empty stools, so we got to stay.

These burgers are sliders. We ordered an "original" cheeseburger of course, which consists of brown mustard, chopped onions, and sweet relish. They were good, but since I'm not much of a fan of brown mustard, I ordered my second one with no mustard, and added ketchup. The cheeseburgers cost $.75 I think.... I wasn't taking notes at the time. No fries available, just the burgers, hot dogs, chips and soda.

The best part of this trip: The friendly people working the counter and grill, and the other customers. One customer referred us to K's Hamburger Shop in Troy, Ohio, which I've added to our list.

  1. Ha! Remember when we were still in history training and we had a bumble at the site and had Crabill's?? My first time driving a Red Cross vehicle and a tasty little burger. I'm going for a double next time, though.
